Celebrating the Spirit of July 4, 2023

July 4th 2023

Get ready to grab your patriotic colors, because it’s the Fourth of July 2023!

This holiday marks a major event back in 1776 when 13 North American colonies decided they were done with Britain’s taxing rule. Bold figures, known as the Founding Fathers, penned the Declaration of Independence, which was officially adopted on July 4, marking the birth of the United States as an independent nation.

Today, every year on July 4, Americans celebrate this birth of independence with fervor and joy. Expect parades with lively marching bands, savory BBQs, and laughter filling the air. And when night falls, the sky explodes in a symphony of color with spectacular fireworks, making the night join the celebration of freedom. So, enjoy the vibrant energy of Independence Day, an embodiment of unity, freedom, and national pride!

BOISE:

Kickstart your July 4th Holiday with:

7:00am – Cecil D. Andrus Park (across from the Capitol)

Pancake Breakfast, a charity event supporting the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance (VEA).

The local coffee connoisseur, Zero Dark Thirty Coffee, is honored to brew their exclusive blends for you to savor with the pancakes. If you’ve not yet tasted their brews, now is your best chance!

Breakfast will be served at: $6 for children aged 13 and under, $7 for seniors, and $8 for adults. As a token of respect, all military members and their families can enjoy the breakfast free of charge.

11:00am – 10th and Jefferson Street in Downtown Boise

Be ready for an inspiring parade. The theme this year, ‘Keeping the Flame of Freedom,’ perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Independence Day. The parade will head East on Jefferson to 4th St., turning right and continuing one block to Bannock St., then looping back to 10th St.

6:00pm – Ann Morrison Park

Make your way to Ann Morrison Park to relax and revel in the holiday spirit. Take a refreshing dip in the fountain which will be bedazzled with red, white, and blue lights in honor of Independence Day.

An array of food and drink vendors will be ready to serve you. This year, they have an exciting lineup of food trucks dishing out a blend of fresh fusion foods, sweet indulgences, and classic summer fare. For those of age, a selection of beer and wine will also be available for purchase.

Whilst enjoying a picnic in the park, cool off at the interactive fountain, which will be illuminated with patriotic colors.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone, the park will be closed to all vehicles.  (Click here for the area parking map)

However, those planning on enjoying the fireworks are encouraged to commute via ride-shares, or by walking or biking into the park. Please note that drones, dogs, and personal fireworks are not allowed.

10:15pm – Ann Morrison Park

The fireworks show begins, and it is open to everyone at no cost. The fireworks are harmonized with music paying on the radio station 107.2 K-Hits.

Come along and celebrate Independence Day together in a fun-filled and patriotic atmosphere!
